Whoa, I thought it rained a lot in England, but, like most things American, it's bigger and better, it has rained so hard and with such high winds last night, it was a little like being on a ship in our front room, with wind and rain battering the windows and odd bits of light furniture and plant posts going past, I really thought we would have a big tree down this morning, but no, just lots of branches and leaves and no lids on our trash cans. The little old lady down the road who was over 90 several years ago, has lost at least five apple trees that she has tended since she was a child and were planted by previous generations, her little brother goes up the ladder to trim the trees as he is only in his 80's.
This for any of you that might recognise it is Mount Aetna Road at the bottom of the hill near the roundabout, the road isn't flooded too badly thanks to the newish bridge they put in a few years ago, it was only about 9 inches deep to get to the main road in the distance.
My Dad called last night and said it's gorgoeous and warm in England, and presumed it would be hot and gorgeous here too, but no Dad, we will send you our sunscreen, as we won't be needing it any time soon!
